The crazy colors are made out of more crazy colors. Also maybe strobe lights.

Oh,right. Other worlds. Basically it's a super bright light that flashes on and off really fast. Kind of gives things a cool effect, but it also gives a lot of people headaches.

Take the colors you can see with the naked eye out there, turn the dial all the way up, multiply it by a few hundred and add in a couple of kaleidoscopes and strobe lights.
