Rabbit 18 [Video]

[A video comes on, showing the blank expression of a pink haired woman inspecting the camera closely; perhaps she was not even aware it was working right now? But after a moment she steps back, clearing her throat.]

"I do apologize if this is rather sudden; it took me quite a while to get this... strange device to work as I wished. Maybe if that kappa were here, she could have..." [She lets out a small sigh; this was so out of her element.] "Nevermind that; I have a different matter to bring up."

"A situation such as this has been difficult to process for me. I do not presume I am alone in the matter. Even that aside, I have noticed some passengers felt... stressed, when I arrived. I would have loved to alleviate such feelings, however at the time, I was preoccupied. But now..."

[The youkai spins around and makes a dramatic pose to the camera, rotating in another mask; she seemed to be getting excited.]

"It has been brought to my attention a new location on this train has appeared though; a stage of sorts! Such news has been especially exciting to me as I was a performer back home. I have put on a few different performances, but one in particular seemed to be the most popular. A comedy of sorts."

"I would like to raise spirits, my own included, by performing this at the earliest possible opportunity. I am unsure if such a thing would be popular here, but nevertheless, I wanted to extend an invitation out to all of you. If you could all let me know how interested you may be in it, I would greatly appreciate it."

[The youkai leans forward once more, to bow towards the camera.]

"Hey, good to see you!"

[ Tidus's own face has appeared on the screen, and he's giving a smile, recognising the young-looking girl(?). Raises a hand to the screen, and there's things he wants to say, ask, but let's keep it simple for now. ]

"A performance would be fun! You need anything for it? I don't know what's in the new studio, but - maybe some music?"

[ Heck, he hasn't had much of a look around. Was it good for a stage? He should check it out later. ]

[Kokoro gave a gentle wave upon seeing Tidus' face; it was a little surprising to see this technology in action, but nonetheless she was grateful to see someone who had been kind to her prior.]

"Music..."

[There's a pause as she thinks about it for a moment.]

"I would love to have that, yes; such talents are not something I possess."

"I'll ask some friends if they don't hear this!" [ What about Quatre? Or, oh - Wangji's string thingy! That'd be great for a comedic play. ] "It'll be fun. And there's a bunch of music instruments in the music car that I bet you could use for a comedy. How you usually put on a show? Just you?"

"I have always performed alone." [At least, for the theatrics themselves; there would sometimes be someone else handling matters such as music.] "I don't believe anyone has ever shown interest in actually performing themselves."

"I know just the guy who'd have a blast putting on a show with someone. If you ever want a lil' protégé." [ He might be half serious, definitely with a grin, and with someone in mind. ]

"But I'll ask around some musical people I know for you first. The carriage should let in music - I'll check. If we can't get you a live band, we'll use recorded tracks! I'll show you what I mean if you haven't got the hang of that yet."

[ Which, given the time it took to get used to the ICP, probably not. ]

[The cinema car is one thing, but an actual live performance is something completely different - something Ryo loves, and something he hasn't seen since Rich gave his impromptu concert a few months ago. He doesn't know this person, but he still greets them with a smile.]

That sounds great. If you need any help setting up, all you need to do is ask.

[This was... a lot more than she expected to get out of this. Humans typically did not treat youkai with kindness like this, much less offer this much assistance. Of course it was that fear much of them subsisted off of, but even so...]

"I am unsure if it is wise for me to teach someone..." [She'll collect her composure before speaking again.] "Do tell anyone who may wish to help to come to me, though."

[ If there's anything momentary odd in her composure, Tidus doesn't notice it over the screen. He just nods, a smile brightly worn. ]

"Alright! Where're you gonna be? The dance car?"

[Kokoro gives a gentle nod.]

"Yes, that would be correct. I will likely be rehearsing by myself until others arrive."

"Cool. See you soon then, 'kay?"

[ And with that - or with anything else the young ~~youkai~~ girl has to add or say, Tidus will leave the screen, that tickling idea of Romeo helping them out with a comedy not having left his mind. Maybe she can't be a teacher, but a young and spirited guy like him being her helper? He'd be a better one than Tidus, energetic and with plenty of skills up his sleeves to add to a performance!

But of course, Tidus can play his part - and that's by finding the youth and finding if he's in, and then taking the two of them to the musical car for a side trip. He doesn't know anything about what the girl's performances are like, but she was done for music, and there's plenty of fun-sounding chiming instruments to collect and introduce their performer to. Does she know about the triangle? Xylophones? Maracas?

Tidus doesn't, but he knows how to give them a ding or shake, and figure that a good sound for the job!

So it's with a box - taken from the luggage car - that Tidus arrives to the upper floor of the carriage, his eyes immediately taking in the sight of the space. The plaque immediately, reading 'Olivia's Studio' - it slows him to a pause, his cheery demeanour softening to the sight of it.

... there's someone he should be looking out for, and a person coming up behind him, but just give Tidus a second. ]

[There was indeed someone else just behind Tidus. A small boy skipping along, a grin on his face. He hadn't properly looked around the dance carriage yet, he'd spent the last couple of days trying to keep his gods' spirits up after miss Persephone disappeard.

But that doesn't mean he can't help a different friend as well and hopefully make a new one!

He looks up at the plaque.] Who is Olivia? Is that who we are meeting? [To do a show! Romeo loves shows, it will be so much fun!]

[Kokoro herself wasted no time at all after Tidus left the screen, heading directly towards the studio carriage to get a better idea of the space she had to work with. It was definitely different; she preferred holding these outside when given the chance, but it wasnt absurdly cramped here or anything; she could work with this.

Some time passed, and Tidus just happened to arrive when the girl was mid-dialogue, using one of her masks as a rehearsal partner.]

"I know now who my enemies are! Those who would toy with people's emotions-"

[She would pause, however, upon finally realizing she was alone no longer. With her attention diverted from her acting, she greets the two with a gentle wave.]

"Greetings."

"No, no," [ Tidus starts at Romeo's question, breaking him out of his moment, and him about to explain. But he hears the voice speaking confidently before he gets the chance, turning him back to the stage (but this time, lower down) to see the young girl on stage, in the middle of a performance.

That was certainly a different energy than what he's seen from her before. He gives her a wave back though, and walks more into the room. ]

"Hey! You practising another play?" [ He gives a fun grin, but quickly remembers, and turns his head to nod at his company. ] "This is Romeo! He's come to help out."

[She's not Olivia? He thinks Tidus is going to answer him- Tidus is a good adult who always answers questions, but then there is the girl in the middle of her performance and he smiles. He's seen lots of practising before, when he used to watch Elfnein rehearse for miss Hibiki's movie.

He waved.] Hello miss!

"Indeed I am. It has been a while since I last performed this, so I am attempting to remember some of the specifics..."

[Unfortunately, she didn't have anything like a script on her, so her own memory was all she had to pull from for this. She's done it enough times to remember most of it; and it certainly helped that she was very much familiar with the event the play was based off of; but everyone forgets some things, from time to time. Regardless, she turns her attention to Romeo, and dons a more cheerful mask.]

"Hello there. I'm grateful for your company."

[ She's got a lot of masks, hasn't she. As she switches over to the new one, there's interest, eyes looking at it for a second or two, but not becoming distracted by it.

But he has forgotten about Romeo's question, as he gestures to his lil' pal. Oops. ]

"Romeo here's got a cool trick if you ever need it - he can turn invisible!" [ Doesn't it just sound like a trick to use? But not forgetting the crate of instruments he holds, he gives it a rattle. ] "--And I thought I'd bring some stuff from the music room for you to check out. I met a friend along the way who can play stuff, but I figured seeing some of the gear'd be fun?"

[ He's a 'get an idea and go along with it' kind of guy, even if it isn't that helpful in the end. But playing around with things helps a person spark ideas, right? Right?? ]

[This definitely sounded like a good idea to Quatre. He had been feeling a little down about stuff recently and this sounded like the perfect thing to help with it]

This sounds like a wonderful idea. If you need any help, I'm not much of an actor, but I can play several different musical instruments.

[He blinked as she changed masks, but he's used to a lot of strange people and their ways of being. She seems very friendly though so he smiles at her greeting and nods at Tidus' words.

If his spell can come handy for her performance that would be really cool!]

We got lots of instruments in there! Can you play any?

[Invisibility? That was an interesting power, though Kokoro felt it was unlikely she would have a need for such an ability. There was a pause as she thought of how to really mention that; but her mind drew a blank, as another of her masks slotted itself into place subconsciously.]

"..."

[The silence, however brief, made her feel a little bad, so she turned her attention towards the crate of instruments, floating down from the stage to have a look inside. There were a lot she didn't quite recognize, but that couldn't be all there was, right..?]

"I cannot. I am not even wholly familiar with many of the instruments in this box."

[ Tidus isn't deterred by the answer. He gives a chuckle, sets the crate down, and moves to sit beside it on the stage side, one knee bent up. ]

"No problem! Trying new things are part of the fun, and we get stuck on these train rides for a long time - you might think about fun ways to use them in your plays. If you want to."

[ Since, you know, that's the more important part. He waves a hand towards the way he came. ]

"Quatre might have a few ideas too. He's the music guy." [ Then, he points a thumb to Romeo and himself. ] "But if you need us, we're free!"

Yes there's lots of time! [That was for sure.]

And I know some of these instruments so I can teach you too!

[Kokoro spent another moment sorting through the contents of the box, pulling out miscellaneous instruments and holding them up briefly for closer inspection. She could guess how some of them might work; pulling out a traingle and giving it a gentle ring before placing it back; but for how to properly bring out the full potential of their sound... she wasn't sure. And that wasn't her job. But from what she was being told, there were people here who could figure that out.]

[She turns to the two with a newfound determination.]

"I have been trying to problem solve how to approach hosting this one step at a time. The biggest obstacle for me at first was a place to host this; but of course we have this place now." [She says, gesturing to the space around her.] "Next in line was spreading the word. I have made an attempt at this, however I am unsure if it reached as many people as I would have liked. A way to assist me would simply be telling whoever you can about this."

[Its then that she diverts her attention back towards the stage, tilting her head to the side somewhat as she thought about what was next.]

"Music is also important, I believe. Although I am not the one in charge of such matters, so direction for such a task feels very difficult for me. And of course there is the performance itself."

[Normally, she'd feel extraordinarily confident in putting on this show; she's already done it countless times after all. But with so many of her masks gone, she felt as if her range of expression was severely limited.]

"...Normally, I perform alone. But I am unsure if that will be possible this time."

[It was great that everything was working as expected; her efforts havent gone to waste after all. She offers Ryo a gentle wave.]

"Your offer is greatly appreciated. What would assist me the most currently is telling others, if you are able."

[A musician! Had this been the one she's heard about before? Such a person would be invaluable; she greets Quatre with excitement in her voice and a cheerful mask on her head.]

"That's wonderful! What kind of instruments can you play?"

I mean, you've already done it - everyone on the train can see this, except for the people in the quiet rooms.

[But that's probably not what she meant.]

Though if you pick a date and time, I'd be happy to make a reminder.

"Some might not be paying attention...?"

[She wasn't exactly sure how likely that was, but if there's anyone inside those quiet rooms right now, what if they miss the news?]

"As for a date and time, um..." [There's a pause as she stops to think for a moment.] "I was going to attempt to do this again when I was able to acquire some more assistance..."

[He hasn't really thought about the logistics of a performance aboard the train before - much of the entertainment here is prerecorded, and Rich's concert had seemed like a very impromptu thing. This sounds like a production, though, and he might as well help where he can.]

That's fair. How much more help do you need, and what do you need help with?

[She'd asked him to spread the word, but what else is on her plate?]

[Alright, time to get down to buisness.]

"I believe it may be nice to decorate the interior of the staging room. Furthermore, I would like to have someone able to play music to accompany the performance. And finally. I..." [Her tone changes to a much more melancholy one.] "I may need an assistant performer. I usually perform alone, but I do not believe that will be possible at the current moment."

[Those are all actionable, at least.]

If you want to make decorations, there's the art car; you might also be able to ask the train to provide them. I've never asked it for that myself, but I'm pretty sure other people have. If you need help in the art car, talk to Madoka and Romeo.

I'm pretty sure we have some bards aboard, though it'll depend on the music you want. There's also a lot of recorded music in the music car - some of it's a little weird, but you might find something you like there.

And... [He pauses, considers his words - that tone says something, though he doesn't know enough about her situation to know what.] You might be able to find someone to perform with you, but you'll need to ask around.

[He knows - from Tidus, if he's remembering correctly - that Inigo also wanted the dance car, but he hasn't heard anything about it from Inigo directly, so he's not about to volunteer him. It's not his story to tell, after all.]

[It was nice to know she might be able to find an assistant, at least. She had never instructed anyone else on this before, but if there was any time where she needed the help, it was now.]

"I will attempt to ask around. Perhaps you could as well? Although you did say everyone on this vehicle can see this..." [This is gonna take some getting used to.] "What to do now..."

I can, but I don't know what kind of performer you're looking for.

[She'd said comedy, right? He's not honestly sure what her performance entails, and he's learned better than to assume by now.]

"Are you familiar with Noh performances?"

[It probably wasn't the first thing people thought of when expecting a comedy, but it worked better than you'd expect; at least, she thought it did. Everyone at home loved it!]

"Some experience with such a thing is of course ideal, however I believe any sort of acting experience will help. This is a performance I know by heart; I wrote it after all." [Not entirely by herself, but she was proud of what she made.]

[Yes, it is quite possible that he is the one she has heard about]

I can play violin and piano the best. There are a few others, but not as good as those.

"How about a flute?"

[There were some other more specific instruments, but she wasn't sure if there were any available; they surely had to have a flute though.]

"If that is not an option, perhaps something else can be arranged."

"Flute. I can play it. I wouldn't claim I am the best at it, but it is not outside what I can do. We could always take a look at the options that are there. I do know there is a piano and I have my violin from home."

He knew there were several who their personal flutes, but that was theirs.
