I think it's about time that there was a discussion among those of the medical community of the train. After that last mission, I do believe that we need to be on the same page in regards to basic layout and basic protocol. Such as who is where, if applicable, or who is capable of what. I assume some are more suited to stay back in safety while others are more capable on the battlefield. Which is why I bring this up in the first place.

Especially with a mission such as the last one, back home teams were deployed with at least one medic who was skilled in both healing and able to defend themselves. I assume that isn't a... sustainable option here for the simple fact we're all from different places. But the lack of organization has gotten to me, I admit.

Perhaps there ought to be a... meeting of sorts set up to discuss these topics among others?

At this point, you may as well. It's better to know what people are capable of in any healing or medical sense at this point, I think.

I'm trying to learn proper first aid too, but I'm... mostly self-taught.

I'll come along. I can heal people when they're pretty badly hurt... when we're in a place where we can use our abilities.

That seems to be how a lot of people on this train are. Another reason they should have included proper training on first aid with hands-on, but what do I know. [Nothing as he's a cheating bastard most of the time.]

That... is the other thing I'm concerned about. What can be done if we can't use abilities again. It's inefficient at best, dangerous at worse. But do tell me more about this "pretty badly hurt" bit.

Basically the stronger I get and the more I fight the more techniques I get. So my Persona - the thing I use to fight - can now pull people back from the brink of death if I summon her. It's going to take a lot out of me, but I can do it.

Or I can just heal people who are hurt normally... it won't fix a broken arm or something, but cuts and bruises and monster damage? It can heal it pretty well. It might not close up everything, but it's enough to hold someone together and get them back to someone with real medical training.

Mm. Well, that's useful enough. If it says anything, fixing broken bones on the field is generally not something any medic from my world would try while actively engaged on the field. It's... a recipe for disaster, to be perfectly frank.

I can imagine. It can get pretty chaotic in a fight... my group at home has someone who's basically on healing duty when we're out fighting, and the things we fight don't tend to go for broken bones. But if we did need something like that I... imagine we'd have to go to an actual medical professional.

He's quiet for a moment as he turns that over in his mind. Sounds similar to his world in some aspects, but it makes sense that if you actively have people going out to fight or in dangerous situations, to have someone with some medical prowess there.]

I'm glad to hear that there's at least similar thought between different worlds. I can treat broken bones, it just takes a lot more concentration and time than healing on the field would allow. And, well, to put it in perspective, I'm probably on the more proficient side of the scale when it comes to medical shinobi of my world. [It's not even bragging is the worst part of it.]

The fact there hasn't been any coordination, to my knowledge, is distressing. But I suppose sometimes people can't see past their own noses and need it pointed out to them before something that should be obvious is done.

Hello. I only recently arrived but would like to make myself known as another healer aboard the train. My talents lie in magic, but I know enough mudane healing to aid if necessary - though given the advancements I have seen just within the medical carriage, it would be beneficial to learn more.

If you require assistance gathering others for such a meeting, I would be more than happy to see what can be done on my end.

Yeah? It just seems like something you can heal super wrong. I don't really know how our skills work on a technical level, but it seems to speed up natural healing if I had to give it a guess. But a broken arm can't just heal itself without going wrong... that's why casts and splints are a thing, right?

Mm, that is precisely why it's not something we heal on the field. Bones are... finicky, at the best of times. You would be correct in why casts and splints are things. While we can heal things fairly quickly, it would still need to be set correctly to ensure that while the bone, ligaments, tissue, all of that, heal properly.

After all, a shinobi with an arm out of place isn't exactly useful.

I certainly won't disparage the train in bringing in anyone with medical knowledge, goodness knows we could always use more. And you aren't the only with "magic" or whatever similar concepts on the train, but the knowledge of mundane medical practices certainly isn't a hinderance. As for the... advancements of the carriage, I'm sure it can be explained simply enough. From my own experiences, they're more to make things easier if unable to use whatever healing method and need to do things more... hands on.

For the moment I'll leave it like this. I know that while I don't have seniority, I know that the ones that do can't ignore this for long. [Even if he made an enemy of one recently, but that's neither here nor there.]

I found a good series of books so far, but I shall make more of a point to seek others whom might provide more sufficient hands on training. ( outside of...whatever ends up eventually being planned for something more structured. Organizing large groups of people usually took quite some time. )

Ah. Might I ask who those with seniority might be?

Every team has at least one designated leader. Orange is Eva and Curufin; Red is Thanatos and Otoha; Purple is Roland; and Blue is Yondu and Lan Wangji. On missions, there's also White Squad, which is healers and medics and is organized by Miss Spider - if you want to be part of it, you should see her to get an armband. She uses those to move medics where they're needed.

I've been here for about six months; I believe Vexen and Raven have been here for a bit longer, and I'm sure there are other healers and medics who've been here longer than that.
