Poi 01 - Do you have any bags?
[Amaya is immediately signing as the video comes on. Luckily, the SCAs provide subtitling, or even dubbing if you prefer. Since most of her viewers don't know sign language.]
Hello, everyone. For those who don't know me, I'm General Amaya, Team Purple. I'd like to make an offer and ask a question, if I may.
First, the offer. Regardless of your team, I understand you all often find yourself in some pretty hairy situations, ones that aren't really well-organized until you hit the ground. What I'd like to offer is my experience and expertise. I'll be starting classes in basic tactics and small-unit actions, which are the sort you're most likely to be encountering.
First tip? Columns. This one's for everyone. If you're in a group, travel in a column, rather than all together - spread out. It means that anything targeting you from range can't hit everyone at once - doesn't really matter if that's arrows or catapults or whatever space weirdness you're facing.
Now, what I'd like to do is offer alternating classes - hand-to-hand combat strategies and basic tactical ones. Let me know what you'd want, and I'll see about arranging them.
Now, to the question: do we have sandbags?
[To emphasize what she means, she holds up her hands, forming a rectangle, then indicating a rough measure of depth. Then she starts signing again.]
I can hear you saying: why do these matter? Because we need them. A cart full of sandbags is a defensive position in the making. They can stop a lot of projectiles of a lot of different sorts - you can use them to fortify buildings, close off bridges - trust me, they reduce casualties and make life a lot harder on the enemy. So.
Do we have them, and if not, can we get them?

Mix and match for the occasion.

Magic has been suggested. But bags go inside of other packs, and they don't take up that much space. Unless we have to fortify an entire defensive line, in which case someone'd better be quite with wheelbarrows.

It was along a beach that was getting attacked every day.

Well, glad to know someone here is familiar with the importance of a well laid-out trench. I've lost track of the number of times I've had to remind people you can't just dig in a straight line and expect the best.

I'm not that familiar with trenches, to be honest. You said you're a General, right? A war time, army kind?
no subject
Thankfully not a full scale one. Not yet, anyway.

Me neither. Well, I guess one of the missions was like a war. We got in the middle of some humans and the demons coming to take down their last defence. There weren't commanders or generals around, but the Purples had to hold down a defence outside the city, watch any demons trying to find their way in.
You know much about the missions? Figured you might have more ideas for helping if you did.

Not a big picture. I've heard bits and pieces. I'm just figuring on what has happened before eventually happening again. But you're right on that.
sorry this is late! we can have a new thread if you like about this
So you know how we end up moving around and how we move gear too. I don't want to put any ideas down. [ He gives a small shake of his head. ] The more options we have, the better!
I'll backtag forever, no worries!
Works for me. You're thinking right, as far as I'm concerned.
thanks! <3
[ Too long, is what his tone means. ]

Works for me. I'll appreciate you going on a bit.
