That must have been sad, though, the realization that they must give up their Loftwings. I can see why some would not go down to the earth, where they would not have those companions or the ability to fly. You're saying that some disaster happened to the city, causing it to break in pieces, some of which fell to the earth and some of which remained, along with the people?
