It makes sense. People here don't know him that well, and they aren't going to know him if he doesn't tell them. You're allowed to ask for what you want. It's a lesson he'd learned at home, even if he backslides sometimes, and he needs to do better at remembering it.

He hasn't been opening up to people - only when he's falling apart and in desperate need of comfort - and...well, there's good reason for that. There are so many people here who are hurting, who need that same help, and he's a healer; who is he to lean on them when they need that support themselves? Isn't that selfish?
