But there was only so much tickling and invasion he can take in one void day, so he tries to bargain now, laughs turning into chuckles but his hands start working hard to try and pluck individual higgledies out of him....

Finally, the higgledies take pity on him and start filing out of their target's clothes, no more tickles to be had, residual laughs drained from him totally. The ones that do remain use him as a make-shift higgledy foot stool, standing and sitting where there are planes and dips, but that's par the course.

Roland dusts himself free of that debacle and assumes a confident calm that comes naturally to the chief consul. Arms against his chest, the two higgledies in his pocket still there for some strange reason. ]
