[The video flickers, addressing the train as a whole. There's a man dressed in a blue hoodie, so he looks unassuming with a red ribbon tied up in his hair in a ponytail]

Greetings and good afternoon. If you're new, make yourself at home. If you've been here for a while and never met, I am not known to many, but I had been here for quite a while.

The journey on the train can be a very long one. It will be difficult to find activities to do on the train to pass the time while we wait until the train arrives to the next world for the next mission. You can read books in the library, go train in the gym, watch a movie in the cinema, or listen to music in the music car to pass the time.

That's why I had been thinking of teaching art classes and hold lessons on most days. If you're interested in art and sculpting, I can arrange teaching a small group and find art supplies for us to use and experiment with. We can make beautiful pieces, work with color, and make statues, and find inspiration in everything.

I am Hua Cheng, by the way, or Mr. Cheng. I like painting and coloring, and I realized if you like drawing and working with colors, I can teach you how to draw and paint.

Yo! Check the corner in the coach with the bookshelf. We got a bunch of art supplies there free to use. And I know a few people to send your way if they don't volunteer themselves.

Hey Tidus, how are you? I'll take a look.

I'm looking for students and to teach the kids. I noticed there isn't an art program. I'll go take a look in that coach to find some art supplies and assemble a class.

I thought of this idea because I sorta noticed on the platform earlier today...I think we need an outlet for people who endured too much. Maybe art can help with that? What do you think?

'Sup! [ He offers the greeting. ]

Hey, whatever gives people something to do, you know? If you're gonna make it a regular thing, you might need more paper... but I mean, if people are into it, more people should go for it. I know Madoka and Romeo like art - they're in Blue too. And I've got a friend...

[ --ah! ] Oh yeah! I've got a book with a bunch of Earth animals inside it. You wanna borrow? For drawing from?

[he's in the standard coach now, searching the supplies] I might make this class a regular program, depending on who wants to come over and learn art. Back home, I did a lot of paintings and making statues, so I figured why not share the knowledge?

I'll see what in the coach. I do know we need lots of paper, watercolor, paintbrushes. For sculpting, some clay...[he searches] Let see, I couldn't find clay, but I found some canvas and sketchbooks.

Yeah, we had to order it all in. You'll need to buy the clay yourself- hold on, I'll come over and help.

[ And bring that book, since maybe it'll be nice to leave with the art supplies; especially since he knows the kids hang around in there often.

Tidus won't take too long to come to the standard coach, a fairly thick book in hand. He nods his head when he sees Hua Cheng. ]

Hey. You know about the voting for new cars they have sometimes here?

I'll think about the materials that I'll need for sculpting later. For now, I think tools for drawing pictures and painting would suffice for beginners.

[He's in the storage room, hand-picking the materials when Tidus came over with a nod and a smile]

No, I haven't. What about it?

An art car's been up on it ever since I've been here. Poor thing never gets enough votes to win! Reason why we just shoved a bunch of art supplies all here 'til -- well, if it ever wins.

[ Who knows. Poor art car. ]

I'm not an artsy guy, but the kids've got an art project coming up they wanna try. You ever made like...hanging things, and decorations?

Ah, I see. So, there is no art car. Art takes a lot of patience and creativity. I know it has taken me years to learn and I'm pretty much self-taught. Most kids, they seems to like the games and the library.

But if we can garner interest, I will certainly vote for the art car.

I'm pretty traditional with paintings and carving statues. [with a thoughtful look] But hanging things and decorations, that seems interesting. Who are the kids? I would like to work with them and we'll see if we can rekindle the interest in that project.

There's no rekindling needed. They're dedicated! It's Romeo, Madoka, and Ple Two -- all from Blue. We're thinking about trying to do some painting on the garden car wall, just a side of it? And sticking up a tree made from some of the bamboo in the greenhouse.

[ You know, juuust borrow some of it. He raises a hand up. ]

And maybe a roof or canopy made with a fishing? Not sure how it's gonna work, but we got all the gear today! We're thinking about making it into a memorial space. But- [ he waves a hand, mood quietening. ]

Platform day's been rough, so I haven't talked to them about it.

[with a nod, he recognized them] I met Romeo and Madoka, it's been a while since I last seen them. I haven't met Ple Two yet. I was busy trying to get settled.

[he listens with great interest] A painting on the garden wall. I would like to do that. Something like a mural, yes? So count me in.

[he listens again, and takes out a small notebook to write it down] We can figure it out later. There's no rush. A project like this takes time and planning. Lots of time.

A memorial. I know what loss feels like. I feel that personally. So if I'm able to help, it will be a beautiful memorial. Back home, I fix and repair temples and paint pictures for a spiritual and religious reason. So if we get together, it will be a space for all.

[Rapunzel currently doesn't want to show her face to much of anyone even after the platform. It will take time, but hey she is at least talking about art.]

I know I did consider and mentioned doing classes once before. But I never got past that announcement phase. I have some sketchbooks that I haven't used yet for art supplies too and some paint.

Cool! Maybe you can give us some ideas [ Tidus says with a nod and a grin. ] We wanna make it like a memorial...but also a day that's happy too, you know? They're gonna make a big cake. [ Aha- ] And we're thinking about... little gifts too.

They're a real giving kind of group. Like to make everyone they meet happy. 'Course, that means I've gotta do my part to make sure they're getting presents too.

I figured it help passes the time since it can be a long wait before the train reaches the next planet. I was doing a lot of paintings on the train, and I realize I can teach others.

You're welcome to come. I'm holding classes in the library. Tidus gave me some ideas on some projects to work on and Yoite is interested in origami, so I'm including that as well.

What kind of sculpturing do you plan to teach?

[ The inquiry comes from a tall blond in red clothing, whose expression looks genuinely interested. Which he is. They didn't cover a lot of sculpture back in the day, other than the usual Greco-Roman. ]

Hello, I think I recognized you. You're my roommate. Cabin room 3:E?

At the moment, there's no clay in stock to work with. I have to order it via the shop, so it will be a while before I can teach sculpture. But I was thinking figurines or clay pots, something that's easier for the kids to work with.

In the meanwhile, it's painting with water colors or origami or sketching with pencils. Whatever capture the idea and their imagination.

Art classes seem like a fun idea. I’ve kind of wanted to learn to paint, but I don’t really know how to draw.

It does. I'm surprised there isn't anything art-related until Tidus told me there isn't an art car, but we do have art supplies in the coach.

But if you want, you can come and join me in the library. I have a few kids interested, so it's possible we can have a group session and learn. It's as simple as picking up a few pencils and do a sketch.

[They will never put their face on the full-train network. Voice isn't likely, either. But the one form of "art" Soldat is capable of has in fact been mentioned, and after a long few minutes of of debate-- do they want to teach more than one person at a time again? do they feel safe enough?-- they slink to wherever it looks like Hua Cheng is broadcasting from, hands full of little origami shapes.

Which they set carefully in front of him, once they find him, without ever looking up at Hua Cheng's face. An owl, a fox, a lion, and a star.]

I know this. Origami. Lots of shapes. If people want to learn.

[Most likely in the library in that case and there's artwork, art supplies, and paper on the table. He smiles brightly, his voice warm, and he's very supportive of his work, even if he's hiding his face, he sees them]

Hey, what have you made? Let see, you made an owl, a lion, and is that a star? Do you want to make more? I have a lot of paper. [But then with a thoughtful look] I can make some for you and show you how to make it if you like? Do you have a favorite animal?

[They wave that off, but hesitantly rather than jerkily. They're being careful. He's misunderstood, which isn't surprising, they're not being very clear right now.

(Let's try that again, pal.)]

I can teach. To help. I know nineteen shapes. I made up the star one myself.

[He blinks, and then he nods understand what he meant]

Sure, there isn't many students. So far, I know of one, Yoite. He's deaf. You can also go around and ask if they want to learn. That's why I pick the library, because a lot of people come here. So pick a table and I have color paper if you want some.

Yes, Yoite. I'm teaching him already.

[Wait, is Soldat the one who misunderstood? Now they're confused and kind of afraid they've made an idiot of themselves. Gotten all psyched up to come help teach, for nothing.]

You aren't having classes? People coming at a set time, to learn a set thing?

Ah, I see. So you taught him. I met him a while ago and I made him origami rabbits.

[Oh no, it's all right. He doesn't misunderstand! It's just not very organized]

At the moment, no. I don't have anything set. I didn't set a time. It's free-form. It depends who comes to me and if they're interested, and what I'm offering, they take what's available and I reflect back on their interests. They come and go. I only announced based on interests.

At the moment, there are no students now. It's only me. [Does that clarify?] Just think of me mentoring whenever it's convenient. If you want to teach origami, you just have to find someone who is interested. [Does that make senseish?]

I wonder if we can suggest an art car the next time the train expands. [ Not that they know when the train plans to expand. ]

Sure thing! Is everyone meeting now, or...?

I might come, depending on what the class is at the time.

You're welcome to come to the library whenever it's convenient. Usually in the afternoon sometime after lunch, but I'll end it roughly one hour before dinner time because I need to cook.

[He writes more notes down in his notebook] I'll think of something along the way. I can't think of anything else for now, other than figuring out what's everyone into and just go with the flow.

Cakes and gifts are good offerings. From where I'm from, we leave flowers and burn incenses sticks and candles and put pictures of the loved one to remember them by. But I think presents and making people happy is the theme, to help people remember.

The train can expand itself? That's new to me since I haven't been here for long. I'm only here for a month. I hope if we get the opportunity, we can vote on it.

No, I'm just offering to mentor. So anyone can come after lunch in the afternoon when it's convenient. But I'll finish roughly one hour before dinner, because I need to cook.

Yeah. Sometimes we get an option to vote on what new car the train gets, but there seems to be some kind of expansion to the train whenever we make a platform stop. It's not always a new car, though, sometimes it's just additions to an existing car.

Sounds good! I can definitely stop by when I'm free.

What about people still around? We were talking about lil' pouches, sticking something in them, for anyone who wanted to join in and make some decorations for the lil' garden addition? ...and it was more food and sweet things.

[ Aha. Typical for kids, but he couldn't say he could come up with anything better. ]

[It does, it's just not what Soldat had anticipated. It's both easier, because yeah they're already finding people and showing them individually, and disappointing, because as hard as it is to be looked at sometimes, they'd kind of been hoping for an actual, regular gathering of people to just... be with.

They sigh a little and nod.]

All right. If you do wind up with actual classes. With actual people. At a particular time. Let me know?

[he wrote those down too and keep notes] We'll see who wants to take part and join in. I imagine it's a slow project with the limited resources we have.

Not to mention things can get hectic before and after missions.

[It's no problem really and Hua Cheng brought it up as a whim]

Sure, we'll see what happens. If you find interested students, you let them know too.

I will at leas5t keep that in mind.

[Soldat nods again. And lingers a little, looking around at the art supplies Hua Cheng brought, already.]

I hope you do get a class going. I think that would be. Good for a lot of people.
